Sub. Departments PTD vs

The Sub. Departments PTD vs report puts each sub-department's period-to-date numbers side-by-side with the same period last year, with color-coded change indicators. Use it to spot which categories are up or down versus last year at the sub-department level, then drill into the individual items behind any sub-department. Find it under Reports → Sales → Sub. Departments PTD vs.

What's on the Sub. Departments PTD vs report

Above the table, the exact This year: and Last year: date ranges being compared are shown. One row per department/sub-department, grouped by department (click a group header to expand or collapse it):

  • Department / Sub. Dept — the category the row covers
  • Qty TY / Qty LY — quantity sold this year (TY) and last year (LY)
  • Qty Diff — change in quantity
  • Sales $ TY / Sales $ LY — dollar sales this year and last year
  • Sales $ Diff — change in sales
  • Sales % — change in the row's share of total sales
  • Profit $ — change in profit dollars
  • Profit % — change in the row's share of total profit
  • Margin — change in margin
  • Adjust $ — change in inventory adjustment cost (shown only when All Divisions is selected)

Change cells are color-coded: green when up more than 5%, yellow when down slightly, orange when down more than 5%, and red when down more than 10%. A value of +9999% or -9999% means last year's figure was zero, so a percent change can't be computed.

Show absolute change or % change

The Show: dropdown at the top controls what the change cells display:

  • Cell: absolute change — the cell shows the dollar/unit change; hover over it to see the percent change.
  • Cell: % change — the cell shows the percent change; hover over it to see the absolute change.

Your choice is remembered in your browser for future visits.

How last year's period is matched

  1. Day and WTD compare against the range exactly 52 weeks earlier, so weekdays line up (Saturday compares to Saturday).
  2. MTD, QTD, and YTD compare against the same calendar period one year earlier.
  3. Custom compares your chosen dates against the same dates one year earlier.

Select the period with the Period dropdown (Day, WTD, MTD, QTD, YTD, Custom); the From: / To: date boxes appear when Custom is selected. A division dropdown (All Divisions or one division) is available on accounts with more than one sales division.
