Memory & Standing Instructions

VMXpert remembers things between conversations — but not everything it remembers has the same reach. There are two kinds of memory, and it's worth knowing the difference.

Saved facts

Tell VMXpert something worth keeping ("we use size 'QT' for quart pots", "our wholesale minimum is $200") and it saves the fact for future conversations. Each fact has a scope:

• Just you — only appears in your own conversations.
• Your store — shared with everyone at your store location.
• Your company — shared with everyone at the company. Worth a moment's thought before saving something company-wide.
• A type of screen, or one specific screen — surfaces only when someone is on that page (e.g. a note about a quirk on the receiving screen).

Standing instructions

Instructions about how VMXpert itself should behave — "always keep answers short", "call me Dee", "never use emojis" — are stored separately as standing instructions. They're applied to every future conversation and are never crowded out, even when a conversation gets long.

Reviewing and forgetting

There's no settings screen for memory — you just ask:

• "What do you remember about me?"
• "What are my standing instructions?"
• "Forget the thing about quart pots."

Forgetting deactivates the memory immediately. Your personal facts and standing instructions belong to you — a coworker's chat can't erase them. Store- and company-wide facts are shared, so anyone on the team can update or remove those.

Each scope holds up to 20 memories, and each memory is kept short (a sentence or two) — VMXpert distills what you tell it rather than storing whole conversations.
