No Sales ('No Sale' Analysis)
The No Sales report (titled 'No Sale' Analysis on the page) answers the question: how often is each employee opening the cash drawer without ringing a sale? Every time a cashier uses the register's No Sale function, VMX logs it. This report totals those drawer openings per employee and compares them to the number of receipts the same employee rang in the same period — a high ratio is worth a closer look for training or loss-prevention reasons.
Find it at Reports → Registers → No Sales.
Running the No Sales report for a date range
- Go to Reports → Registers → No Sales. It opens showing today.
- To look at a different period, set the From and To date boxes (type a date or pick one from the calendar).
- Click View.
What each column means (No Sales report)
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Employee | The employee's name. |
| Store | The store that employee belongs to. |
| No Sales | How many times the employee opened the drawer with a No Sale during the date range. |
| Receipts | How many receipts the employee rang during the same date range. |
| Percent | No Sales ÷ Receipts × 100, rounded to a whole number. For example, 5 No Sales against 100 receipts shows 5. |
The table is sorted by Percent, highest first, so the employees doing the most drawer-opening relative to their sales volume appear at the top. Click any column header to re-sort, or use the filter row under the headers to narrow the list.
Why is the Percent column blank for an employee?
If an employee recorded No Sales during the range but rang no receipts at all, there is nothing to divide by, so Percent shows blank for that row. The No Sales count is still accurate — a blank Percent with a non-zero No Sales count simply means every drawer opening happened without any sales rung under that employee's name.
Who can see the No Sales report
The Registers group of reports can be limited per employee. If you don't see No Sales in the Reports menu, your login may not have access to register reports — talk to your administrator, or contact help@vmxllc.com.
