Campaign reports

Email Marketing isn't turned on for every store — if you don't see a Marketing tab in your admin nav, contact help@vmxllc.com to have it enabled.

Every campaign has a results page, reachable from the Results button on the campaigns list once it's sent (or while it's sending). If a campaign performed well, Duplicate this campaign at the top right starts a fresh draft with the same content.

The numbers

  • People — how many were on the list at send time.
  • Sent — how many the email was actually submitted for.
  • Opened / Clicked — shown as a percentage of what was successfully delivered.
  • Unsubscribed / Asked for fewer — how many opted out or asked to hear from you less often, as a result of this specific email.
  • Undeliverable — addresses that bounced or were refused.
  • Marked as spam — recipients who reported the email.

While a campaign is still sending, percentages that depend on delivery show "Not delivered yet" instead of a number — that's not the same as zero, it just means there's no data yet.

If two campaigns have gone to the same list, the report also shows a one-line comparison with the previous one — "Compared with the last email to this list" — so you can see whether opens and unsubscribes are trending the right way.

Tip

If a campaign's spam-complaint rate is higher than usual, you'll see a warning here: "More people than usual marked this as spam." Anything above about 0.1% puts your future emails at risk of going to junk folders. It usually means the list included people who weren't expecting to hear from you, or it had been a while since your last email — worth sending to a smaller, more recent group next time.

Cost

Shows the actual dollar amount charged, alongside what was quoted when you confirmed the send — so if the two ever differ, it's visible rather than something you'd have to dig for.

For a recent campaign, this shows which links got the most clicks, so you can tell which part of the email actually drove interest.

Older campaigns (roughly two years or more) stop keeping this level of detail — the totals above (opens, clicks, unsubscribes) stay accurate forever, but the exact breakdown of which link someone clicked isn't kept indefinitely.

Addresses that didn't work

A table of anyone whose email bounced, was refused, or marked the message as spam — with a plain-language reason for each. These addresses are already excluded from future sends automatically; you don't need to do anything, though it's worth fixing obvious typos.

What was sent

The report shows the email itself, exactly as it went out. This is the stored record of that send — editing a template or your branding afterward never changes what's shown here.

Emailing the people who didn't open it

If a campaign was delivered but not everyone opened it, you'll see a button reading "Email the … people who didn't open this". One click builds a new smart list of exactly those people (named after the campaign, e.g. "Didn't open: Spring Sale") and starts a new campaign — pick that list in the To step and write your follow-up.
