Inventory WDR
What the Inventory WDR Report Shows
Reports → Inventory → Inventory WDR
The Inventory WDR report (titled Inventory Analysis WDR on the page) shows the value of your on-hand inventory grouped by WDR categories — the standardized garden-center category list used for industry benchmarking — instead of by your own department structure. Because every participating store maps its departments to the same category list, the numbers are directly comparable to industry benchmarks and to other stores.
For the date shown at the top of the page (change it with the Date field in the report sidebar), each WDR category row shows:
- Category — the standardized WDR category
- Cost — cost value of the on-hand inventory mapped to that category
- Retail — retail value of the same inventory
- Margin % — (Retail − Cost) ÷ Retail, the margin you would earn selling that inventory at current prices
A totals row at the bottom sums Cost and Retail and shows the overall margin. The report covers the store you are currently signed into.
How Departments Map to WDR Categories
Each of your departments (and, where needed, individual sub departments) is assigned to one WDR category. The mapping is configured per-client by VMX. If a department is missing from the totals, or a new department needs to be added to a category, email help@vmxllc.com with the department name and the category it belongs to.
This report is enabled per-client by VMX — it appears in the report menu only once a WDR category mapping has been set up for your business. Contact help@vmxllc.com if you'd like it enabled.
