Sales Rep & Commission
Some VMX clients track which sales rep made each transaction so commission can be calculated and reported. Three pieces wire together: an item-level Commission? flag, an optional default sales rep on the customer profile, and a Sales Rep dropdown on the register.
Availability
This feature is enabled per-client by VMX. If you don't see a Sales Rep dropdown on your register or a Commission? checkbox on item pages, contact help@vmxllc.com to discuss enabling it for your store.
Mark items as commissionable
On the inventory item page, check the Commission? checkbox in the status row. Items without that flag don't count toward commission, even when a sales rep is selected at the register.
(Optional) Default sales rep per customer
On a customer's profile, set the Sales Rep field. When that customer is selected on a sale, the register's Sales Rep dropdown pre-fills with their default rep. Cashiers can still override it on any individual sale.
Select a sales rep at the register
When ringing up a sale, choose the rep from the Sales Rep dropdown above the tender section. Selecting "None" leaves the sale uncommissioned.
The selection is stored on the receipt (one rep per transaction) and feeds the Commissions report.
