Account Reservations

The Reservations tab on a customer's profile lists the inventory reservations attached to that customer — in-stock items being held for them. It is similar to the Wish List tab, but shows items that are already in stock that are being held for the customer. The tab label shows a count when the customer has reservations, e.g. Reservations (2).

Reservations reduce the item's available-to-sell quantity until they are released or the customer buys the items. For what a reservation is, how it affects available stock, and the store-wide view of all reservations, see Item Reservations.

Columns on the customer's Reservations tab

  • PLU — the item number associated with the product; links to the item page.
  • Description — the item name and size of the product reserved; also links to the item page.
  • Quantity — the quantity of the item reserved.
  • Date — the date the reservation was made.
  • Employee — the name of the employee that created the reservation.
  • Note — any notes for the reservation.
  • Expires — if applicable, the date the reservation will expire. Reservations with an expiration date are released automatically once that date has passed.

Manage a customer's reservations from their profile

Each row on the customer profile's Reservations tab has the same actions as the Inventory → Reservations page:

  • Release — returns the reserved quantity to available stock. Confirm at the "Release Reservation?" prompt.
  • Adjust Date — changes the reservation's release date. The Release On prompt accepts plain-English entries like "2 weeks" or "1 month", or an exact date.
  • Trash Qty — for reserved stock that died or was damaged: enter a quantity at the "Trash Reservation?" prompt to release the reservation and remove that quantity from On Hand.
  • Trash-can icon — removes the reservation after the "Delete this item reservation?" confirmation, returning its quantity to available stock.

Full details for each action are on the Item Reservations page.

Add a customer's reserved items to a register sale

When the customer comes in to pick up their reserved items, you can ring them up straight from the profile's Reservations tab:

  1. Check the box on each reservation to ring up (or use the checkbox in the table header to select all).
  2. Click Add Checked to Register.
  3. The register opens with the customer and the checked items (at their reserved quantities) already loaded on the sale.

After the sale posts, the register shows an Update Requests & Reservations window listing the reservations that were purchased — click Fulfill to reduce or remove them so the items aren't still held after pickup. See Item Reservations for details.
